Description:
Due to the continuing development around Mosquito Lake, one of Ohio's largest lakes, upgrades to the existing treatment plant in Trumbull County were made. Improvements included converting the existing treatment tanks to a flow equalization tank for wet weather events, the installation of an 85,000 GPD dual train packaged treatment system, and increasing the sand filtration area by an additional 50%.
Products Used:
Instead of the originally specified painted steel treatment system, a more durable PENETRON ADMIX treated precast concrete system was cast, which also met project restrictions due to the site’s small footprint and staging space. The precast system provides greater life span expectancy than a steel plant. The positive results prompted specification of PENETRON surface applied products for leaks in the existing treatment tanks too.
